Dig up minerals
If regular makeup irritates your skin or you’re concerned about toxic substances, try mineral makeup instead. Mineral makeup was actually created in the 1970s but didn’t catch on widely until recently. Made from natural, finely ground earth minerals, it was conceived as an alternate to the dyes, preservatives and chemicals found in traditional cosmetics. Note that not all mineral makeup is free of known toxins. The Campaign for Safe Cosmetics’ Skin Deep database is a great source for finding non-toxic products. Natural food stores are another option. Today, challenge yourself to learn more about mineral makeup products with the intention of updating your vanity with more natural products in the future.

I have tried BE, and JFR mineral makeup. Both were wonderful. I currently have Avon’s line of mineral makeup and absolutely love it. The powders are so much softer and I don’t get it settling into the creases by my eyes. Just bought some of their new mineral lipstick and love it. Soft, creamy and I can layer it on. If I want a sheer, I apply 1 coat. If I want a little more coverage, I apply more. I love this line of makeup!

I started using mineral make-up about 5 years ago. I was using BE, but switched to Avon’s mineral make-up because it gave me better coverage. As a matter of fact, I use the entire Avon mineral line. I’ll never go back to a liquid foundation.

I use Bare Minerals and have so for several years. Since I have gotten older and my skin has gotten drier, I find that if I use my moisturizer and wait a few minutes before applying Bare Minerals that it feels better on my skin. It always feels light and airy—like your own skin but looking better!

I’ve been using Bare Escentuals since the 8th grade, and now I am a senior in College. It has worked wonders on my acne-prone skin and has been a wonderful confidence booster!

Mineral makeup works the best for my skin which tends to be on the oily side, but it doesn’t work so well with dryness issues on your skin.

I recently bought mineral makeup from ELF (Eyes, Lips, Face) and really like it. Additionally, the prices there are great!
