Save when soaping-up

Concentrated soaps, like dishwashing liquid and laundry detergent, come in many sizes. Oftentimes, the packaging isn’t about how much of the product you’ll use per washing; it’s related to how much the soap has been diluted. Bigger isn’t better. The next time you’re buying liquid detergent, challenge yourself to buy a smaller, concentrated version of what you usually buy. Or, to get even greener, look for an eco-friendly biodegradable product.

The problem I have with concentrated stuff is that it’s too hard to get out a minimal amount, so when I’m washing one or two knives by hand, I end up with WAY too much soap, rinsing 3x as long.

I’m interested in making my own detergent, too. How do you do it?

I recently changed the cleaning company in my office. They use all natural cleaning products and she makes her own. I think its time to try at home.

Also, is the concentrated soap really better? It seems like we’re still polluting the water as much just more concentrated.

how do you make your own detergent? That would be nice..
otherwise, I generally use only concentrated for laundry and dish soap. I’m considering going over to hand soap, but I don’t know if I’d put it out for the general public as they might not get it.
