Challenge Yourself for: 7 days

Eating a piece of fruit at snack time increases the nutrition in your diet and prevents you from eating less healthy options. This week, challenge yourself to eat one whole fruit every day. Pay attention to how this affects your eating habits for the rest of the day.

(When logging progress for this challenge, only log as many days as you participated the activity within the 7-day time frame.)

For fun I leave the cherries on my counter, but do not eat them unless I pit them. It makes me slow down while eating them. Kids love the fun of playing with the pitter.

i’ve always loved fruit.. growing up, we never had cookies or sweets around the house.. but, my mom made it a habit to serve fruit as dessert.. and now, i can’t go a day without several servings of fruit a day!

I eat fruit every single day. If I missed a day I think I would go into withdrawal. My most important fruit is a banana for the potassium since I have high blood pressure and bananas are loaded with potassium. Last year I had gooseberries for the very first time and fell in love with them. I haven’t had them since but I sure wish I could.

I love to snack on fruit, especially apples and peanut butter. For a healthy dinner, I add crisp fruit to salads for more flavor.

I’m a fruit fanatic! For starters I juice every morning! I have the LaLanne juicer which is amazing and I juice 3 carrots, an apple, a kiwi and blueberries every morning! It gives me a great boost to start my day! Then for snacks I’ll either have a banana or an apple :)

I love fresh fruit and veggies. I always eat an apple every day and find the sweetness in the apple satisfies my sweet tooth. I always encourage my family to eat fresh fruits as a snack and I often make a nice fruit salad for desserts.

Eating fruits and vegetables everyday is not a problem for me. It’s only difficult when there’s not any good enough to buy, but I’ve found wonderful frozen varieties, including mango chunks, to fill in those times. If not for my love of salmon, sardines and tuna fish, chicken and the occasional steak, I’d be a vegetarian!

My favorite fruits are apples, melons, kiwis, and necterines, and this summer bushes in my yard gave me beautiful blueberries! After picking almost 2 gallons worth, I left the rest to the birds, the bugs, and the bunnies!

I didn’t used to like fruit until I started using it as a substitute for other sweets. Now, I love all fruits. Recently, I learned which fruits have more sugars than others. Don’t forget to eat fruit with less sugar in the evenings.

User_thumb

Amyers~ Which fruits have you found to have the least amount of sugar?

i put a handful of blueberries in my yogurt everyday :]

stone 982, apples and pears have the least amount of sugar. Granny Smith apples have the least amount of sugar. Stay away from bananas and berries in the evening as well. You don’t want to sleep with sugar on your stomach. Sugar turns staight to fat when it is not burned. I enjoy yogurt as an alternative as well. Plus, yogurt is very high in protein.

just a quick question, my fried’s love ihop, and whenever we go i never know what to order because none of they’re food is healthy haha.

does anyone know if like which pancakes are healthier, “double blueberry pancakes” or “strawberry banana pancakes”

(the double blueberry pancakes are buttermilk pancakes with blueberries inside and bluberry compote on top, and the strawberry banana pancakes are buttermilk pancakes with bananas and strawberry compote on top)

i found the perfect lunch always contains fruit, a nice tuna sandwich(with whole wheat bread) with lettuce on it, carrot sticks on the side and a fresh green apple and maybe a oat meal cookie. :)

as of dinner i usually always try to have some sort of fruit with it, i usually go for a chicken salad(chicken is great for dinners), carrot sticks on the side as you can never have enough veggies and or broccoli bits, and an apple or some other fruit. and your good to go for the day, also I’ve been making it a habit to take daily Vitamins(that contain fiber, iron, etc)

an apple everyday! my family usually has a bag of grapes on the table or in the fridge everyday during the summer- they quench your thirst, give small bursts of energy, and are great for snacking!

I had a bunch of fruit today, i had a nectarine, a pluot ( a plum-apricot hybrid) ,a homemade cranberry sauce that i made myself with splenda, just boil down a cup of cranberries with about enough water to cover the berries and add about 1/8 cup or 1/4 cup splenda ( to taste) I like my sauce extra tart so 1/8 cup of splenda.sauce is ready when all berries have popped and it thickens up. it will be a bright red, let cool and chill then serve on chicken or turkey or meat.
