Freshen up your spice rack
Did you know that dried herbs and spices have a shelf life? As they age, they lose a lot of their color and flavor. Depending on whether they’re whole or ground, herbs and spices can last anywhere between six months and two years. This weekend, clean up and organize your spice rack. It might even inspire you to experiment with new flavors in your meals in the coming week. _(When logging progress for this challenge, only log as many days as you participated the activity within the 2-day time frame.)_

the spices I use, I have to replace every month because I use them constantly, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, tumeric, curry, ginger, pepper, cayanne, pepper flakes, corriander etc lots and lots, I use very little salt but am always using herbs and spices and fresh fruit and veggies to make my meals healthy and tasty

I signed up for the challenge. I’ll go through everything, but I was only married last year. So the spices are a year old.. This will motivate me to make some dried herbs. I have Sage, Oregano, Chives, Mint and Cilantro. I will pick some and then dry them so I have nice dried stuff handy too. All organic!!!

I try to go through my spices every summer, and usually buy them in smaller containers so that I’ll be sure to use them before they go stale. I’ll start drying some herbs (like thyme and oregano), and will puree and freeze others (like cilantro and basil)

...time to start drying herbs from the garden to replace those that are old. We grow most of our herbs now. Just purchase things we don’t use much.
