Plan a green wedding
Weddings are a great opportunity to set the tone for your new life – and inspire others. From recycled invitations and vintage rings to minimizing your guests’ driving and donating leftovers, you can do a lot to make it a blissful yet responsible day. Some guiding principles: Stay local with regard to food, location, and vendors. Do as much online and off-paper as you can. And skip the registry in favor of soliciting donations to a good cause. Challenge yourself to go green together as you begin anew.

I got married in Vegas 9 1/2 years ago, but I do things in my life daily to be green. My weekly garbage usually consists of 1/2 full (recycled) garbage bag and the rest is all recycling. I shop with canvas bags and if I forget to take them into the store, I carry my items in my arms. I’m anti-plastic and styrofoam. All light bulbs are compact florescents and my electronics are unplugged when not in use. I also use Seventh Generation cleaning products. I am always coming up with new ways to be a little bit more green. My produce is purchased from a local farmers market…..
