Make a dog’s day

Challenge Yourself for: 30 days

If you love dogs and want to keep active, why not spend some time volunteering at a local shelter or humane society? Many facilities have programs that enable you to take homeless dogs for a walk, which not only benefits them but keeps you moving too. Challenge yourself to take a dog – and yourself – for a walk. _(When logging progress for this challenge, only log as many days as you participated the activity within the 30-day timeframe.)_

Despite wind chills of 2*! Me & my 3 Hounds do this most every day 5-10 miles. They keep me slim & trim & keeps the added biscuits off their frames too!

Yikes! not possible today- Ice Storm- not safe for me or the dogs. This type weather can do severe damage to their paws & my posterior!

Not a problem for me- they’re my fitness Coaches- Bandit & Blue & Ever-Ready! My Hound Teams log about 5-10min. a day around our neighborhood. Only sleet, ice or rain (heavy) put a damper on our work-outs! With 6 pairs of eye’s begging & 12 paw’s clawing? There’s just NO escape! Luckily, my neighborhood is fairly safe for all the activiity.

I do this everyday with my 3 labs. Unfirtunately there are no shelters local to us where I can do this, so I gave them an extra long walk today to make up for the shelter dog I wasn’t walking.

I do this everyday with my pal Ryu, except he is my dog not at a shelter. We will walk for hours on end ( I have a dog bowl and water for him so he doesnt get thirsty and either do I!) and when I start to get tired and he is jumping to go on he will run behind me and start nipping at my heals as if to say COME ON MOM MOVE FASTER, KEEP GOING YOU CAN DO IT! it makes me laugh so hard and I start to jog faster. So he is My Companion for working out and also my couch potato for when I am done working out and tired.
