Taste an alternative milk
In addition to soy and coconut milk, there are lots of other alternative milks you may or may not have heard of. Believe it or not, milk can be made from almonds, oats, rice, and even potatoes. During the next 24 hours, do a taste-test with one alternative milk to see how you like it.

I
which alternative milk is low in calorie and sugar.. which has the highest? Do you know?
I did a couple searches on Nutrition Data. There, I learned that out of cow’s milk, soy milk, and coconut milk, soy milk has the least sugar. And coconut milk has less sugar than whole cow’s milk. Interesting.
Here’s a link to the Nutrition Data website. It’s fun to check out the nutritional information for all kinds of stuff:

I really like Rice and Soy milk. This is an easy task for me, I am lactose intolerant, so this sounds very interesting.
Almond Breeze makes unsweetened Almond milk (plain, vanilla and chocolate) with only 40 calories per cup. Vanilla is very tasty on cereal.
SILK brand unsweetened soy milk is very low in sugar and calories and has just a couple unsaturated fats so it has a creamy texture (works GREAT in chai). I love it and have lately been drinking their omega added version now that is SO good! I didn’t initially like soy milk, especially the unsweetened, but after a few tastes I have really liked it. Large doses of soy can act like an estrogen, and can also help to lower thyroid levels (which is one reason I like drinking it—I have hyperthyroidism).
SILK brand chocolate milk is very good. Also chocolate almond milk is very good. :) I look forward to trying another kind. I think I’ve only tried rice milk once. I’ll have to try it. :)
I absolutely love the Silk brand soy milk products. Especially with tea and cereal. I’m looking forward to trying the chocolate lol
Almond Milk has the same amount of calcium as cow’s milk without all the side effects. You can also make it at home with raw almonds. It is very simple. It was used in the middle ages first because people didn’t have fidges to keep their milk in. It can replace cow’s milk in recipes too. It tastes great too. I add a little honey.
I found that soy milk has a texture that I enjoy more than rice milk – rice milk was very thin and seemed watery after drinking cow milk for so many years. Silk and 8th Continent brands are both really tasty in original, vanilla, and chocolate!
my family members are allergic to nuts. be careful when adding almond milk to recipes you are bringing to friends homes.
What a great challenge. I love soy milk….as long as it’s silk soymilk. The vanilla is the easiest to drink and they now have a ton of variations. There a many different flavors. As far as health benefits go, SilkSoymilk has made some additions. They have Silk Light, Silk Plus Fiber, and Silk for Kids (in a purple container—with vitaminx A + D, etc. for kids). It’s my favorite company for the taste and health choices…and the commercials rock. Yay Silk!!
I love coffee with creamer and a friend said use soy I WILL NEVER go back to any other creamer for my coffee. Lots of yummy flavors.
I love making smoothies with westsoy soy milk. I had a lovely banana smoothie for breakfast.
I love Lowfat, Original Oat milk or Hazelnut milk in my cereal in the morning. It adds more flavor and texture.
I’m absolutely addicted to Almond Breeze Unsweetened Original. It’s 40 calories per cup, has no sugar and only 3g of unsaturated fat per cup. It’s silky, smooth, and nutty —amazing!
vanilla silk soy milk is wicked good on cereal. it tastes like a vanilla shake with my cream of wheat, yummy!
I bought my first Silk Light Soy Milk last night…I tried it in my coffee this morning & it tasted very good. I have looked at it at the grocery for several weeks and finally made the decision to try it.
