Analyze your diet

Ever notice that recall is less than 100% reliable when it comes to what we eat each day? Real change and increased awareness of the amount of food you eat requires an honest look at what you’re eating. Today, write down all your meals and snacks.

Healthy foods are perimeter foods at the grocery (the fruit and veg section, dairy, meats & fish, etc.). Shop once a week so things are fresh, and money’s not wasted on food gone bad. If you add your grocery bill for the things you buy now that aren’t good for you, and then what you actually spend and eat on good things; the price is the same or less. Eating more natural foods with more fiber fills you up, and you eat less. Kashi is just a part of the diet, and the cost of the cereal or oatmeal is in line with unhealthy brands.

I’m down 40 lbs and continuing.

I consider my diet pretty good. I have gone from 188 to 125 pounds by eating Kashi, exercising, and doing weight watchers on my own.

I’m confused—-”Kashi is just a part of the diet, and the cost of the cereal or oatmeal is in line with unhealthy brands.” Kashi and oatmeal is unhealthy?

I track my food every day & make sure I’m getting the right balance of food groups.

Kashi has great tasting foods/snacks and are easy to incorporate into any diet plan. After tracking my food intake daily for approximately 1 year, I no longer have to track it because I have changed my way of eating for the better. I no longer crave those sugary foods I used to eat! Wow, that’s exciting!

Been tracking now (off and on) for about 2 years. I find that if I’m falling off the wagon, just start tracking again & like magic I’m eating as I should again!

I am trying to get back on track and have found out that if I write down what I eat and watch my portion sizes it helps a lot. The Kashi snacks make it easy to satisfy my mid day hunger.

This really helps me keep a balanced diet! I am so much more aware of the amount of fruits and vegetables I consume each day.

I am 210 lbs and wand to get down to my comfortable weight of 165 lbs by New Years 2009.

When I track my food I’m accountable for what goes in my mouth. And I eat less!

You don’t have to pay more to eat well. You just have to take more time choosing your food. Make a food plan and stick to it. Decide whether you want to spend time picking the foods that are good for you now or take time off to go to the doctor’s office later.

I started doing this and it has really helped me to be aware of what I am eating. I made a little spreadsheet so I can do it from now on!

Eating healthy is a great way to prevent illness. This along with regular exercise and tending to our emotional and spiritual needs really paves the way to all around health. I have been following a TN pain reduction diet and keeping my saturated fat level to 12g or less per day (similar to AHA diet guidelines). In one week, I have lost 7 pounds. I eat mostly organic vegetables and fruits, nuts, and some dairy. I eat mostly fish and poultry, and cut red meat down to 1-2 times per week. I also cut down my portion sizes to be exactly what is recommended. I eat only when I am hungry, about every 3 hours, and eat only small amounts of food. I have also been doing Pilates and walking. I have a lot less pain and a lot more energy. people notice I am looking and feeling a lot better.

Today is the first time I fit into a size smaller since changing just my eating habits. I’ve also started 3x a week with yoga and some strentgh training this week. I’m feeling a lot more energetic already.

I’ve fallen off the wagon of responsible eating using many excuses. I truly miss my good habits and hope to remind myself about the many benefits of conscious eating even through my super busy days. I hope I can go back 3 sizes even as I turned another birthday recently.

I just joined this because I was celebrating the joys of a Kashi oatmeal chocolate chip cookie and procrastinating on a term paper all at the same time! Love Kashi!

I usually eat healthy food, but lately I’ve been downing boxes of chocolate chip cookies. This is not good. I want to try to eat much more healthy and cut out refined sugar as much as possible.

When ever I start putting on weight I start writing down everything I eat. It helps to keep me focused on eating healthy foods, like fruits and vegetables and the whole grains found in Kashi.

Being mindful, aware, and accountable of what you are consuming is one of the single most important things you can do to improve your nutritional health.

I’ve lost just over 50 pounds by doing weight watchers on my own and exercising. I’ve hit a plateau though and realized I’d stopped thinking so much about what I put in my mouth. I’ve decided to start eating breakfast, something I’ve never done, and I decided to try Kashi TLC bars. I had the Trail Mix bar today and loved it. I can’t believe it has whole grains AND tastes good.

I like how we are encouraged to analyze our diets. I recently began analyzing mine and realized I eat pretty healthy. Since I am a vegetarian, healthy eating is automatic. Yet I stiiiillllll don’t get enough fiber! With all the fruit and vegetables and beans I eat, it’s still not enough. I didn’t know how little fiber white pasta and white rice and potatoes without the skins had.

Analizing what one eats everyday is a daunting and imprecise activity. My main challeng in this endeavor is to truly account for all the little the things such as a piece of candy from a coworkers candy jar or that half of a bagel or even finishing off that “little bit” of dinner left in the refirderator. Of course these all add up and I am developing the discipline to not only resist ingesting these things but also to truthfully account for them in my analysis.

Friends and I started a biggest loser contest. I do not need to loose weight but I did it with them anyway to make sure I stay healthy. Alot of them have already quit and my fiance and I have still done well. I’m eating better and still excersing. The Kashi foods help. Thank you.

i’m an extremely healty eater, but i lose with my big sweet tooth! I can eat healthy all day and if i’m around a sweet, everything is down hill from there. I am not aiming to lose weight, but eat in moderation. I tend to over eat and feel gross and bloated, so i joined this challenge to keep track of how much I eat. It helps so much because I stay satisfied and feel great!!

i first started trying to get healthy just to lose weight, but now that i’m learning more, and realizing that i actually like healthy foods, i’m making more of an effort to make every meal, every day, healthy and nutritious.

Now that summer has arrived, I’ve been eating rather unhealthy foods. But now I’m going to get back on track and eat healthy like I did before. Also, I tend to overeat at meals, so hopefully this challenge will help me watch the size of my servings.
