Yes, we know getting off your rump can sometimes be tough. But if you’re going to experience tomorrow, why not experience it strong and healthy? Some tips for sticking with a routine: • Start off small • Be realistic • Don’t beat yourself up if you miss a day. This month, challenge yourself to workout at least 3 times per week for at least 20 minutes. _Always consult a physician before starting any exercise routine._ _(We’ve given you 30 days for this challenge. When you log your progress, you only need to log as many days as are applicable.)_

    I took a 2.5 hour hike today with my two favorites: my husband and my Maltese, Lily. I always find it easier and less painful to exercise with a friend. And I loose motivation if I have to exercise on my own. I signed up for this 30-day challenge so that, even if I have no one else to work out with, I know there are 420 other people out there who are trying to make the same commitment I am. I am sure the reasons we have made this commitment are extremely varied. But, our goal is common, and I feel a lot of comfort in that! Good luck everyone!

    Today is the first day and I’m planning on joining a gym near my house with a friend of mine. It’s always easier with a partner. I hope that this continues to motivate me to keep my gears going!

    Today my first day… however, I worked out on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week! I am going to day 3 today! :)

    My goal is to run between 3-4 miles today. :)

    Today is the first day of my challenge. I have set up a few different challenges so that I am able to rotate. 01/17/09 will be my first day :) with a 20 min workout on the treadmill.

    Well, for the past 10 days my husband and I have been waking up at 4:45AM to hit the gym. Six days a week of some type of workout. Upper Body (45mins)/Monday, Cardio (20mins.)/Tuesday, Lower Body (45mins.)/Wednesday, Cardio (20mins.)/Thursday… etc. Saturday is our FREE DAY! So far so good! I have more energy and I feel great!

    I take one day at a time but today instead of using my wheelchair I held my husbands arm to walk down our sidewalk. The sunshine outside today was invigorating and felt so wonderful!! Get outside for fresh air and sun as much as you can. I look forward to additional steps outside tomorrow

    I ran last night for 3 miles and did abs/pushups. I’m going to go to the gym tonight and get a good cardio workout in.

    Between a walk to the mall and ‘Dancing the Night Away’, I logged 17 miles on my pedometer just for yesterday’s activity! And, the best part, because it was all fun, it was effortless too!

    Off to the Health Club. I normally try to do 30 minutes on the ARC then 30 minutes weights ( 4 times a week).I don’t lose much but I don’t follow the water rule either: Drink 1/2 of your body weight in water daily per a trainer. Does running and cleaning after a 4 year old count? If so I’m in. I need to start walking the dogs more thats a great idea Pescetarian.

    I realized that my dog was overweight, so that gave me a real reason to get off my rump and walk every day (otherwise I might put it off for ‘tomorrow’ every day!). I walk him for at least 20 minutes every day, plus I ride my bike a few times a week in the evenings.

    Day one – I was on the treadmill for twenty minutes, plus some heavy lifting in the garage (cleaning up and putting away stuff) for about 30 minutes.

    On Day 2, I did a different exercise during each commercial break of the 2 hour Biggest Loser Show.

    Day 3: After dinner, my spouse and I took a fifty minute walk.

    I DID SOME STRETHES WHILE AT WORK AND I TOOK THE STAIRS INSTEAD OF THE ELEVATOR. THEN I TOOK A 5 MINUTE BREAK TO RUN UP AND BACK DOWN THE STAIRS. HARD WORK- BUT SO WORTH IT!!!!!!!!

    I committed to moving more this week (month now!) instead of calling it ‘exercise’.
    This morning, as my child boarded the school bus, I started walking the neighborhood. That decision lead to 60 minutes at a brisk pace!

    With both jobs and grad school…I’m only finding time to walk during lunch of 30 minutes, but it is a great way to get off my butt and relaxes me as well…It is nice to see how much further I can walk each week.

    I’ve already dusted of my pedometer for that challenge. This one will get my Garmin Forerunner out of its “hiding place” for a walk tomorrow morning and I’ll cue up a few videos to get back on track.

    I just joined the Kashi community. What a great site. Starting this week I will exercise at least 3 times a week for at least 20 minutes.

    Speckster, I too need to exercise, most likely walking, for my weight and mental health. I have alot of stress in my life right now and would love to talk with you.

    Today is my day 1. I will go for a walk for my wieght and for my mental health. Got to find a way to handle the stress. I hope this is going to help? Anyone out there want to talk about it? Let me know.

    I’ve had a “Gazelle” for several years. Like most excercise equipment, it ended up being a clothes rack. In order to accomplish my goals, today is the day to relocate it and start walking on it!

    I walked for about 30 minutes today. I usually go walking on my breaks when I’m at work, but I got out of practice. I will start going back to the gym this week. It’s kinda hard to get to the gym on the days I have to work because I’m up at 5:15 a.m and off at 7:00 in the evenings. I work at the hospital and I’m on my feet taking care of patients all day. I’m too exhausted to go workout. However, there’s no excuse for not going on my days off (4 days a week). I decalre, this week I’m putting my war clothes back on and getting this body under submission and back in shape.

    I’m training for a 5K! YAY… I’ve actually been working out 5 days a week. I feel amazing. After work I eat Kashi Crunch Carmel Go lean Bar before my workouts, they sustain my energy and lasts all the way till dinner.

    I enjoy walking from time to time. However, this week I begin the challenge to walk three times at 20 minutes a clip with gradual increases. I will also begin to consume Kashi foods once again.

    My hubby and I go for brisk 40-50 min walks 5-6 times a week, and we keep it green by doing all our leg work right here in our neighborhood. Now I just need to get that strength training in!

    I am trying to walk every day. I have been doing light weights and will start back on my pilates tomorrow. I am having surgery next month and know I will feel better having a head start on exercise. It will also give me something to look forward to after the down time!
