I just went through and organised my (3.5) shelves of food items according to food group and put bulk foods into glass jars. (I like the look of the cornmeal, oatmeal, popcorn, and rice all lined up) We also (five of us) just set up a small table in the dining room for our fresh fruits and veggies, getting what we termed “the produce aisle” off of our eating/studying/working/talking space.

You just gave me a reminder of what I was already planning on doing as my next house project. Go through my cupboards! My main clutter I will be ridding myself of will be unused appliances and pots/pans, etc to make more space. It will be refreshing. Time to get the donations to the Goodwill ready. :)

I try to give our pantry and thorough once-over about every six months or so — it really helps to keep things from getting “lost”.

I actually do this about once a week or so, when I am making my meal plan for the following week. That way I can be sure I am not wasting food, and only buying what I need to make a meal with food I already have. It can save you some money too.

We recently reorganized our cupboards and donated canned meat items in an effort to lower our consumption of meat, and also lower the use of processed foods.

I had to reorganize and restock the cupboards because all of my cbinets have been replaceed when the Kitchen was remodeled. I find it Amazing how many Items that I had kept, spent good money on, and didn’t use. And now that I have a different lifestyle, I gave many of the “other food items that I no longer eat away.

I just went through my cupboard, and tossed out some old chips I had in the back. Clean living from now on!

I went through mine last night. I have been on a stocking spree and needed to get it all organized and inventoried.

I sort every other month because I have a husband who likes to bring home new things for the kids & I to try. Some of it is just gross but I have trouble just pitching it. So every couple of months if I can’t remember using it I toss it.

I just went through my cupboards, and put aside quite a few things for the food bank.

I just recently went through my cupboards after learning that I have Interstitual Cystitis. I got rid of practically everything and replaced it with all natural organic products. The food that was still good; I gave it to some less fortunate neighbors of mine that I knew needed it.

I don’t keep any cookies or chips or sugary snack in my cupboards anymore. I keep fiber bars, raisins, papcorn. Even if I want junk food, those aren’t my choices anymore!

I don’t know where Kirbyco is from, but they do the same thing here. It is a great way to use up the things I think I’ll use and don’t. Although, sometimes I have some pretty wierd things, since I like to cook all kinds of things!

The lack of food in my cupboards makes it pretty obvious I eat out too much.

Every six months the post office here has a food drive and places a reminder card in the mailbox with 5 days notice. It is a wonderful way for me to keep on top of my cupboard staples and to stock up and give to the food drive.
