Test for air leaks

Leaky homes use more energy. Here’s a neat trick for testing yours: hold a lit incense stick near windows, doors, electrical boxes, plumbing fixtures, outlets, ceiling fixtures and attic hatches. If the smoke moves horizontally instead of rising, you may have found a leak that requires sealing. This weekend, challenge yourself to identify all the air leaks in your home.

(We’ve given you 2 days for this challenge. When you log your progress, you only need to log as many days as you think are applicable.)
