Use recycled toilet paper
Tissue and TP made from other used products are less wasteful than conventionally produced options. The next time you buy this essential item, challenge yourself to look for the symbol for post-consumer recycled paper on the package. In particular, avoid brands that contain 100% virgin trees.
Yes, I will buy next time when I go to the store
I found this site that talks about the TP manufacturing – http://www.madehow.com/Volume-6/Toilet-Paper.html
Recycled is the way to go but a close second would be TP made without chlorine bleach – thus producing no dioxin. Most TP makers grow their trees and maintain forests specifically for that purpose. The trees are “virigin” in that their only use is in the making of TP.
What is way way worse is the cutting of Boreal virgin forests by Kimberly Clarke for making Kleenex and other paper products – this from Greenpeace
“One of the ancient forests Kimberly-Clark is destroying to produce its tissue products is the Boreal forest. The North American Boreal forest stretches from Alaska, across Canada, from the most western province to the east coast of the country and is the largest tract of ancient forest left in North America. Representing 25 percent of the world’s remaining ancient forests, North America’’s Boreal forest is a globally significant forest”
