Do some sit-ups

If you haven’t done them for a while, you’ll discover they’re pretty challenging. In the next 24 hours, test the strength in your abs by doing one or two sets of 8-15 sit-ups. Always consult a physician before starting any exercise routine.

I hate sit-ups even though they will make my core stronger. I will start with 10.

I did 2 sets of 12, but I’m so used to doing crunches that I don’t know if I even did them right! I know I’ll feel this later!

This should be a breeze since my Pilates class is tonight. Does that really count as a challenge or is that cheating?

I use three different pieces of weight equipment for my core, they are like situps, but you can adjust the motion and the weight you use. I’ve challenged myself to increase each machine by 5 lbs.

Actually I’ve been doing sit-ups since the beginning of February. I’m trying to get myself into shape for the rigorous physical requirements at the Naval college I will be attending this fall.

I’m up for a couple sets. And I’m going to try very hard to keep good form. They’re so much harder to do when you do them the right way :-)

@krossoll: My couch is pretty low to the ground, so I wedge a thin pillow between the bottom of my couch and the floor. Then, I stick my toes in between. It works great for me!

Ok will start with 15 twice a day and keep it up for 1 week to see if there is a difference in the abs. Hopefully so because I am tired my poochy belly!!!!

I actually did mine two days ago, and will do more today. They are soo much more intense on the exercise ball.
Which translates to faster results.

been doing some modified crunch type sit-ups and did my gut ever hurt for a couple days, will continue to work at it though

@dcates: I talked to my trainer about how long it takes to see results. She told me that after 2 months, you will notice a change. After 3 months, other people will notice. I think that’s a good way to look at it because otherwise it’s easy to get discouraged. I’ve been doing sit-ups now for almost 2 months and the thing I’ve noticed most is that my stomach feels stronger. Since I haven’t lost any weight yet, I see a little change. I feel a lot better, though. I know that a few months from now (swimsuit season), I’ll look great.

I used to do 150 sit-ups &/or cruches every night. Now that my backaches have started up again, it kills me to even do 30.
Hopefully I can convince my mom to get me an exercise ball so I don’t have to put so much pressure on my spine.

User_thumb

I was doing 100 situps daily and not seeing any results (mainly because I was eating like a pig). LOL. Now that I’m dieting and losing weight, I will start doing situps again. Though it will probably take me a while to get back up to 100 a day.
