Tune-in to your internal clock

Sleeping is part of your body’s 24-hour biological cycle, also known as your circadian rhythm. When you get enough sleep, your body has time to do regular maintenance work. That’s why after a good night’s sleep you usually wake up feeling renewed, energized, and refreshed.

Tonight, challenge yourself to pay attention to how your body winds down at the end of the day. Then, make it a point to go to bed early enough so that you get a full eight hours sleep. (Tip: Try to go to bed at the same time every night – even on weekends; this helps your body stick to a regular schedule.)

After reading the following article, I’ve been steadily waking earlier each morning instead of staying up late at night to do things around the house. I found that I feel more refreshed in the morning even though I woke up at 5:45 today! http://zenhabits.net/2007/05/10-benefits-of-rising-early-and-how-to-do-it/

I tend to awaken early every day due to my job. I am getting used to going to bed much earlier. However, I have joined a gym and do not get home until about 10:00pm 3 days a week. I hope I am not exhausting myself, but am learning! I am also trying to learn the better ways to destress myself, which is easier said than done. I have begun a task to lose about 75 pounds, with diet and exercise. I turn 39 this year and am a type 1 diabetic, so all that weighs heavily on me. Hopefully, my new strategy will help with much of my stress!
