Admit you were wrong

Knowing you are wrong is one thing. Actually admitting it is something else. It takes a lot of courage and humility to step up and acknowledge when you’re mistaken.

Today, think back on a recent situation when you knew you were definitely in the wrong but you didn’t take responsibility for your mistake. Consider whether the circumstances warrant an acknowledgment. Perhaps you recently had an argument with someone and left things on bad terms. Or maybe a situation at work left you feeling incompetent and afraid of admitting your mistake.

If appropriate, make an attempt to reconcile with the other person. In a situation that can’t be rectified, simply acknowledge to yourself that you could’ve acted differently and resolve to be more honest about your mistakes in the future.

I do admit I am wrong a lot. It feels good, actually. (:

I have a harder time admitting that I’m wrong while at work than at home…work in progress

Admitting that I am wrong is actually right up there with admitting that I don’t have all of the answers… I have learned in my spiritual journey that there is much more strength, humility and human connectedness in admitting my character defects or shortcomings than faking it- I have to just remember that I am truly right where I’m supposed to be and I am going to be alright, no matter what the whirling dervishes are doing around me…teaching high school for over 20 years helps too!

BUT I am NEVER WRONG! HA HA HA !
Seriously if I find I am wrong in a situation, it feels good to admit to. That also rubs off on others so they will do the same thing to you in return.
