Wash all your laundry in cold water

When you use cold water to wash both darks and whites, you reduce your gas consumption. An added bonus is that you also preserve the wear and tear on your clothes. The next time you do laundry, challenge yourself to only use cold water. After a few months, pat yourself on the back when you compare your gas bills. It’s not only an environment-friendly practice, it’s also good for your wallet.

This also works on keeping your clothing from shrinking, fading and simply wearing out before your ready to toss it out.

I have always done this, even back when I lived with my parents as a teen. I dont pay a gas bill because I live in an apartment that pays it for me but I still like to do my part any way that I can.

I always wash with cold water. My husband used to argue with me that clothes don’t get as clean, but I have proved him wrong!!! Oil is too expensive and I don’t want to waste it on laundry!!!

I am definately going to do this !
My children go to a Catholic school and to save the uniforms they will be washed seperate in cold water only and with Woolite. Hanging to dry is the best way to go as well. :)

I have done this ever since I moved out on my own 18 years ago. I have never even thought about using hot water and I don’t even know why. If I want an extra cleaning boost, I just add some Young Living Essential Thieves Oil to kill the germs. When I want my stuff softer, I add vinegar into the liquid softener spot in the washer. I always hang dry my clothes, even in winter. I have a clothes tree outside and I bought wooden drying racks for inside. The other way to save on water is if you use a dehumidifier to dump that water into your washer and use it to wash clothes. It is clean water, why waste it?

My wife and I have always used cold water. Our clothes last longer and our gas bill is cheaper.

I try to always wash in cold water, other than when I wash whites with bleach.

I’ve been doing this already for years now…I only very seldom wash whites in hot when I bleach them…

I’m pretty naive!!! I didn’t realize that it was cheaper to wash in cold water. I’ve done three loads in cold/cold already. Yeah!

I already do this also as I am cheap too. The only thing I wash hot with is sheets and towels

I already do this because I am cheap! I only hang-dry, too. It’s a pain but it saves energy and your clothes.
