Give a green gift
Learning how to live greener is so much fun. It’s all about feeling like you really can make a difference. No matter how small a change, when it’s combined with everyone else’s it really does help. Which is why giving a green gift is so great. You get a chance to spread your enthusiasm for green living to someone else.
Today, make a list of green gifts and people on your holiday list who might enjoy them. To get you started, we visited the National Resources Defense Council’s website and got these ideas:
• National parks pass
• Organic garden supplies (like seeds and fruit trees)
• Send a kid camp
• Send a grownup to camp
• Electric scooter
• Battery recharger
My auto was stolen 2 years ago. Since then I have used public transportation when available. But the best thing I have done is I ride my Trike (3 wheeled Torker, pedal driven) 1.5 miles to work and 1.5 miles home each day. You would not believe the great reactions I get from people. Cars stop at intersections to let me proceed, and I get all kinds of comments about how much money I am saving on fuel, not to mention the health benefits!
