Visualize yourself healthy

By Kashi Read more daily challenge, inner growth, inner harmony, and new ideas
Challenge Yourself for: 24 Hours

Practiced by athletes to improve sports performance, mental conditioning can also work for overcoming everyday stress and improving health. What is it, exactly? A practice based on four core techniques that include relaxation, imagery, goal setting, and positive thinking. Sound familiar now? Essentially, you find a quiet space to focus on what you want to achieve and visualize yourself accomplishing it. It’s exercise for the brain. And studies show that concentrating on positive images can lower blood pressure and boost immunity.

Today, spend a little time identifying a goal you want to achieve or something that causes you stress. Perhaps you have a big presentation at work or an exercise goal you want to meet. Then, visualize yourself overcoming the obstacle and successfully achieving your goal.

Last year i struggled with my weight. I hated my legs and i played volleyball and dreaded the unflattering uniform…..... spandex. Once the season ended i just kept telling myself okay, i need to eat better and stop putting it off, which is what so many people do. So i started getting involved and finding new ways to eat healthy, all natural foods and working out more. Think about it, once you discover YOUR OWN metabolic type and eat the certain foods that your body needs and add in excercises to target the problem areas, the weight will literally fall off of you! Now, i have the body of my dreams and i am not complaining….....or crying because of my looks. I will continue to eat healthy foods and work out. It is truly the most gradifying thing to know that what i put into my body is nourishing and it will not sabatoge my progress! Best of luck and never give up. I thought i would never get the body of my dreams, and i am so excited, blessed, and truly grateful how far i have come. I will never go back to the old, unhappy me! Kashi Girl All Natural, is here to stay!

I am 52 and this year I decided that I needed to make some big life style changes. I started by going back to college and I am enrolled in Nutrition Science and Health and Wellbeing. My first week into it and I suffered a TIA they call it a mini stroke, though it is not a stroke it is a warning that you will more than likely have a stroke at sometime later. And it so happens that my Nutrition class you have to keep a food diary and calculate your cal, carbs, fats, and protein WOW does GOD work in the most timely ways? The class also requires that you make a fitness plan too. Hence the 3hrs of activity a week by the end of the term I have to turn in my results of what I have learned about myself and my food intake. Already I have found that I needed more protein in my diet and less carbs. I feel like I have more energy all though I have not lost any weight from the changes I have made in my eating habits yet. I am hoping that the 3hrs a week of activity will so some results. Adding this tool of visualizing my self healthy may also give me more strength to keep on making these changes and sticking with them. Though if I don’t I will not get a good grade in my class. Worst I will loss me health or perhaps life.

I added one more element to the four core techniques ~ prayer! I felt so much peace and energy after this “brain” exercise. I’m definitely going to do this daily after my evening devotion!

This is something I do everyday of my life. I can see myself in my ideal size HEALTHY! I don’t see a number when I see healthy.
