Enter your day slowly
Rushing to get ready every morning causes you to start your day at a high-stress level. Today, make a commitment to start tomorrow morning at a slower pace. Wake up at least 30 minutes earlier than usual. Then, use the time for doing things you regularly don’t have time for. Meditate, write in your journal, take a walk — make it quiet alone time. See how much more relaxed you feel.

I am just as guilty as everyone else. I wait until the last possible minute to get up and it’s getting later and later. I forget things at hoe all the time and I’m very aggrevated every morning. I’m also more tired when I sleep later because I use all my energy in that time I’m getting ready. If I just woke up a half hour earlier, I wouldn’t feel rushed and maybe I’d get to work with my coffee instead of leaving it on the counter. I will start this tomorrow and hopefully it’ll be a good day.

I have just finished driving the first leg of the DOC tour and I am resting in my hotel. I am hoping to complete as many challenges as possible while traveling on the road and this one seems like a good one to start with. Tomorrow, I will wake up early enough to go swimming in the pool before I head out on the road again. A few laps should get my ready for the day, right?

Help! I am a 1st grade teacher with 2 kids of my own. My husband works really late most nights and doesn’t get home until the kids are in bed. I am trying very hard to make lifestyle changes to boost my energy levels to make it through the day. I gave up caffeine and soda. I have drastically limited sugar intake, increased water and fiber in my diet and began an exercise routine. I still am completely zapped of energy. I already get up at 5:15 to get all 3 of us out the door by 6:30. If I go to bed any earlier, I will never see my husband!

every since I had kids I have been doing this. I was able to go to work when I wanted to because my job was very flexible, now I don’t work away from home very often. I NEVER use an alarm anymore and I feel so much less stressed. My body knows when it is ready to get up!!

After beggin my 5 year old to go to bed, it’s another challenge to get him out of it. I always wait til the last minute to get up myself, whioch makes it a long and difficult task to get him up and conscious by the time i’m ready to throw him in the car, turn back around to get his lunch i forgot, bring him to school, and race to work. I actually started getting up early this morning and I got everything together before waking him up. I got him to school in time for breakfast and got to work before the doctors.

I have a bad habit of getting out of the bed at the very last possible time to make it to work on time. Which of course means I am can end of late because of any little thing that comes up, and often end up starting my day rushing around. I am going to try and do a 30 minute walk, which will be nice not only for but for my dog. (Now he gets very short morning walks made up for with longs ones at night)

I’ve been trying to take it slower in the morning by relaxing and getting my mind mentally preped for the day before ever getting out of bed. :)
