Check your air filters

Did you know that dirty filters on your furnace or air conditioner restrict the airflow, causing them to run longer and increasing your energy consumption? By changing your filters every month, you can reduce your energy consumption by 1 to 2% per month.

Today, add checking your air filters to your monthly household maintenance calendar.

In addition to being more energy efficient, the maintenance man who came to service my furnace said when too much dust gets in your filters, it sends it into the fan. When the fan gets covered in too much dust, it can cause the fan to stop working entirely, make the work the fan does harder, and can potentially cause a fire. When the heat is pumping and the fan isn’t working, the heat can set the filter in your cold air intake on FIRE. It’s not only more efficient, it could also save your life and the life of your family. Fires are nothing to mess with and most people don’t get out alive. Please take just a few minutes each month to check your filters!!
