Turn off the water when you brush
Today when you brush your teeth turn off the water after you wet your brush and leave it off until you rinse. Even small everyday gestures make a difference for the environment.

I’ve recently started to do this & it’s amazing how much water is wasted! I also brush my teeth in the shower from time to time.
I’ve always done this – taught my kids to brush this way also. My dad taught me – he learned it in the Marine Corps in WW II!
I have been doing this since I was 4. I saw it on Sesame Street. There was no water for the fish to live in when the little boy left on the faucet. I am glad to know that people have been conscious of this since 1989.
I have been doing this my whole life i guess i learned that on seseme street! I still do it everyday though to save water
Grew up with well water , only so much a day . If you did not conserve there would not be any for the rest of the day’s needs .
BEEN DOING THIS FOR MANY YEARS… IF YOU DON’T DO THIS JUST LOOK NEXT TIME AT THE WASTE OF WATER GOING DOWN THE DRAIN.IT DOES AFFECT YOUR WATER BILL IN TIME AND YOU ARE NOT WASTEFUL
i already do this
Not a problem.
No problem for me.
I’ll start with this one first, I just spent 4 days on the road in Georgia, they are having a terrible draught. Georgia is aways on my mind!
Every day! A little to get things going and a little to rinse at the end. My entire family has done this since I was little.
considering it’s recommended you brush for 2 minutes…i sincerely WISH every person did this!! what a waste of water. : (
I brush my teeth while I’m in the shower. I don’t even get it wet before I brush my teeth! (Less foamy slobber that way! LOL)
I as well have been doing this for years. If only i could get my fiance’ to do so as well, hmmm..maybe that’ll be my challenge…
I have done this for so many years I can’t remember when I started. It just seems so wrong to me to waste water like that. When I see people at work brushing their teeth in the bathroom & letting an ocean come out of the facuet while they do so, I feel like reaching over & turning the water off for them while giving them a mini-lecture…but would that be crossing the line?? =P
Another water saving opportunity is to shut the water while soaping up your hands :)
This is something that I have done for years.
It would be great if everyone did also.
I already do, but I know a few people who don’t =[
I didn’t realize that “everybody” didn’t do this.
i already do this :)
