Walk with a pedometer
Did you know that the President’s Council on Fitness and Sports recommends you walk at least 10,000 steps per day? Although that sounds like a lot of walking, you probably walk more than you know. Getting a pedometer is a great way to figure out how close you are to the mark. This weekend, challenge yourself to go out and buy a pedometer. Then, learn how to use it so that you can walk with it during your daily routine. _Always consult a physician before starting any exercise routine._ _(We've given you 2 days for this Challenge to get a pedometer and try it out. When you log your progress, you only need to log as many - or as few - days as are applicable.)_

I’m starting tomorrow. Just found my pedometer
I’m dusting off my pedometer and starting its workout tomorrow.
I like breaking up my walk in chunks too. I walk to work and have a retail job that requires me to be active. There is no desk. I sell sneakers for a living. I keep a simple step pedometer on my at all times. I chart in my calendar how many steps a day I take. Also when I do housework, I will scrub my floors by hand which gives me a great shoulder workout. Keep on walking!
I wear my pedometer everyday, some days are over 10,000 and other days are only 6,000 or 7,000. It’s interesting to see how many steps I take when I’m at work. I love it!
Got a pedometer for Christmas (but opened it early) on Sunday we walked like crazy 15000+ steps but most days I’ve been logging 6,000 or so. My aim is to make that number consistently higher.
Wonderful. I’m getting a pedometer asap. I walk a lot and I agree that it’s a great form of motivation. Can’t wait to see how many steps I actually take.
I purchased my pedometer last night and find that I am much more conscience of my steps than I have been. Hoping to get to 10000 today!
I walked a mile from my university dorm to the beach and it feels GREAT!!!

It seems like I never have time, to actually get out and enjoy a nice walk. This will be a perfect challenge for people who have this same problem.
I like walking but after work I am usually to tired to even think about taking my 30 minute walk. I am finding that if I push myself to do it I begin to feel more energetic after a few minutes. Then when I return home I feel as if I got my ‘second’ wind.
