Install a nightlight
Although not something most able-bodied, younger adults worry about, falling is a grim reality for many people. (In the U.S., one out of three adults age 65 and older falls each year, and falling is the leading cause of injury death among seniors.) Thankfully, there’s a simple solution for nighttime spills: better lighting. Installing modest, low-energy nightlights in your home is an easy, affordable way to prevent injuries. Plus, guests, seniors, and visitors with children will appreciate the security of well-lit hallways, bedrooms, and bathrooms. Today, challenge yourself to finish this simple task.

don’t want to fall…
I learned that installing a nightlight would be a good thing for me.
Its a must to have nightlights to be able to not get hurt and bbe able to see
We’ve had night lights in our home since we first moved in. We have one in our master bedroom, the bathroom, the kitchen, the dining room, and the living room. Soon there will be one in our second bedroom once our little sprout arrives. :) I like it so much better than turning on a bright light in the middle of the night to be able to see, as well as having them on when we come home from work or travel late.
I put one in the bathroom, hallway and bedroom. I even gave one to my sister and put it in the kids room.
I’ve got one in my room and a few others scattered throughout the house.
Accepting this challenge reminded me that since the move I haven’t plugged the nightlights back into the walls. I put one in the bathroom, kitchen, living-room and one near the stairs.
I’ve already done this and thank goodness with my young children!
We recently had family to visit. To make our granddaughter more comfortable we installed 5 nightlights in. The guest room they were in, the hall, the bathroom, our room and the stairs. They were not use to our house (they are 1 and 2 and we live out of state)so it made everyone more at ease.
I have 4 nightlights installed in my house. One in both of my kids rooms, one in my room, and one in the kitchen.
7 people in our home, we have stairs too…so this makes me feel safer!
We have motion detection night lights in our bathroom and my son’s bathroom so if we get up in the middle of the night, we don’t have to turn on the regular lights
We have a pretty solar outdoor light stuck into the pot of our indoor Ficus tree. Solar powered means we save a buck or 2 on the energy bill… it all adds up!
This makes it easier in the middle of the night to let the dog out!
This is a great idea..I can get up & see wher I am going in the middle of the nite. Not too mention when the grandkids stay over it is very helpful. Soon my mom will be living with me & I know she will appreciate it as well.
My mother fell and had to have a hip replacement, so i put a night light in my house so nothing would ever happen to me when i get older:)
We built our house with night lights on stairs and in hallways all hooked up to a flip of a switch. Also installed a bathroom ceiling fan with a night light so our children could find their way.
Can find the bathroom without my glasses in the middle of the night :)
Night lights in a couple of rooms help keep me from running into walls or furniture when I need a glass of water at night. I use the kind that are light-sensitive and cut off and on according to the amount of daylight in the room
Helps keep my mother safer and provides comfort to my children!
My mother had four falls over five years resulting in a broken pelvis, ankle, ribs and arm! We took away her throw rugs and installed night lights throughout the entire house!
