Walk for your body and your brain
Walking is not only a great way to exercise and enjoy the outdoors, it’s also beneficial to your brain. A recent study out of the University of Pittsburg shows that walking at least six miles per week can help improve memory and mental acuity in old age, slow Alzheimer’s deterioration, and protect against dementia, among other benefits. Today, challenge yourself to hit the pavement for your brain as well as your body.
Consult your healthcare practitioner before beginning any fitness program.

A friend of mine asked me to “walk” a marathon. I always thought marathons were for runners (which I am not)! We’ve started training and will walk the Rock ’n Roll marathon in October. Our longest walk so far is 12 miles. Feels great!
we walk 5 days a week for 2 miles
The wife and I do this at least four times a week!
Walking is my stress reliever. With every step I take I shed off a little more of the day’s or the week’s trials. You feel better inside and out when you walk.
I love to walk and take my dogs out at least once a day for a mile route. My friend has joined me now and I find it is a great way to start the day. But it doesn’t feel like exercise.
