I found an all natureal cleaning product that really does work. It’s called Bio-Ox citrus concentrate. It cleans vertully all areas of your home. No chemicals “Green” Safe for kids, pets,
everything. I buy it from www.goglo.com. Great carpet cleaner, also works wonders on Pet Stains & odors.

Hey, does anybody know of an eco-friendly version of Pledge dusting spray? Have tried doing without, but end up knocking dust everywhere and it lands back on the furniture.
I’ve sought green dusting sprays in all the local stores and can’t find any.

White vinegar ( buy it by the gallon) is just the best for household cleaning from floors to ceilings, windows and mirrors. counter tops, etc. Dilute half white vinegar and half water, use to mop and clean or put into spray bottle so it is ready to use anytime!

Keep chemicals, fertilizers and toxins out of your home by removing your “outdoor” shoes before entering and keep a pair of “indoor” shoes by the door to slip on. Spray the bottoms of your outdoor shoes with white vinegar/water and wipe them with rag (not paper towels), they are now clean and ready to go into the closet.

I’ve discovered vinegar. It’s natural and cheap! It’s great for stainless steel sinks and removed hard water and lime deposits much better than those chemical cleaners. This web site gives cleaning ideas: http://www.heinzvinegar.com/athome/index.aspx

If you live in Boston check out the Method pop-up store on Newbury street. They will be on Newbury from April 12-27 selling detox kits for your home. You can get 5 cleaning products for $20 or 3 baby products for $20. They also give you Plastic Bag Rehab bag instead of a paper shopping bag. If you bring in your toxic cleaning products, they will dispose of them properly and will give you a free gift. This is a great opportunity to swap all of your cleaning products to more natural options.

Laundry – Several companies now make an environmentally friendly detergent that have no added dyes or scents. Also, one suggestion I found and it works real well is instead of using a fabric softener, add 1/4 cup baking soda to the rinse cycle. The clothes come out soft and fresh.

I just did some research into this subject. I have Systemic Lupus, so my life is about avoiding germs. I disinfect everything, but I knew this couldn’t be good. I found a book last week that gave said using vinegar followed by a spritz of 3% Hydrogen Peroxide will kill as many germs as the disinfectant sprays you buy in the store. I’ve tried it and I like it. I have no proof that it kills as many germs, but my bathroom and kitchen shine and I don’t have problems with my asthma since I’m not using harsh chemicals.

They say that vinegar or water/baking soda are just as good as anything. Your bathroom can’t be that dirty!

I love Method and Mrs. Meyers. We have switched everything except the bathroom cleaners. I feel like I need chemicals to disinfect the bathroom but would love it if someone could encourage me with a natural product that is just as effective.
