Reduce your junk mail

Drowning in junk mail? The earth is too. Most junk mail is not printed on recycled paper and ends up in landfills. In the next 24 hours, contact a few of your most prolific junk mail companies and request to be taken off their mailing lists. If you’re receiving huge amounts of junk, another tactic is to contact the Direct Marketing Association and register to be placed on their do-not-send list.

This is a great challenge. I signed up for an ebill today. I hate paper bills and I loathe junk mail. I will now go after the junk mail senders and eliminate some of that waste from my mail box.

This sounds like a great way to start my journey to a better life. I’ll try to unsubscribe to several of the companies that just never get tired of sending junk my way. The time I spend just clearing the unwanted email I could sure use in a better way.

Found myself finally unsubscribing to all the companies I never used before. Hmmm…It looks mighty different in my inbox!

I unsubsribed to at least 5 companies rather than just deleting them. The mail traffic is slowing down! It really didn’t take that much extra time. Thanks for the idea!

All you have to do is search for the catalogs you want to stop receiving and they will do all the work for you. It’s great for you and for the environment :o)

Now I’m working on getting rid of that “free” newspaper that is always delivered on Wednesday and Sunday. The bag it is delivered in is great for picking up dog poo but I never even unfold the paper…I shudder at the thought of how many people throw it away like I do.
