Plant a butterfly bush

What could be lovelier than watching swallowtails, cabbage whites, monarchs, or other butterflies swooping gracefully around your garden? Welcoming pollinators like butterflies to your garden requires choosing plants with attractive nectar for baby caterpillars, like zinnia, marigold, milkweed, verbena, and most flowering herbs. Long grasses, open patches of damp soil, and warm sunny rocks are also natural habitat enhancers for butterflies. Today, challenge yourself to start making your garden a butterfly haven.

I have a beautiful butterfly bush and we have started a collection of “guest” pictures to share on the porch. pretty cool project for the kids. we took out our sodded hill in the back yard and created a “zeroscaped” oasis to enjoy.

I already have 3 Beautiful Butterfly bushes! I have planted 2 white ones at my church garden and I have a purple bush in my own flower bed. They are the most beautiful when they are full of butterflies and can be smelled from a distance. Everyone should own at least one!!
